Overview
Jaclyn M. McLean is a founder and Managing Partner of Hardy McLean LLC.
Ms. McLean’s practice is focused on the representation of energy companies, oil and gas operators, and investor-owned utilities. She represents oil and gas operators in compulsory pooling actions, and clients who seek drilling approvals for both vertical and horizontal, saltwater disposal, and acid gas injection wells before the N.M. Oil Conservation Division and N.M. Oil Conservation Commission. Ms. McLean enjoys helping clients navigate difficult regulatory and compliance issues, including Notices of Violation, with the N.M. State Land Office, N.M. Environment Department, and the N.M. Oil Conservation Division. She counsels clients who need timely, thoughtful, and realistic solutions.
Ms. McLean has also worked on a wide array of transactions in the energy sector, including asset acquisitions, securitizations, and investments in oil services companies.
Ms. McLean has successfully practiced before administrative bodies, the United States District Court, all levels of the Courts of New Mexico, including the New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. McLean is a native Texan but has called New Mexico home for almost 20 years. Ms. McLean is passionate about supporting her local community, particularly Santa Fe Public Schools, by participating as an appointed member of the Santa Fe School Board’s Community Review Committee and serving on the board of the PTC at her children’s elementary school. Ms. McLean enjoys spending time with her family skiing, tending to her garden, and playing tennis.

Representative Matters
Ms. McLean regularly represents energy companies and oil and gas operators in both regulatory proceedings and appeals. Ms. McLean has prevailed in appellate proceedings before the United States Supreme Court, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Notable cases include Laul v. Los Alamos National Laboratories, 765 Fed.App’x. 434 (10th Cir. 2019) and Hill v. Vanderbilt Capital Advisors, LLLC, 72 F.3d 1220 (10th Cir. 2012).
