Overview

Timothy B. Rode is a partner at Hardy McLean LLC.

He helps clients navigate the most challenging regulatory and litigation issues in the utilities, energy, and infrastructure sectors. He combines strategic insight with deep knowledge of the agencies, statutes, and market forces that shape major projects in New Mexico and beyond.

Mr. Rode regularly advocates before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and other state and federal agencies, guiding clients through contested proceedings, permitting, and compliance. His work spans public-utility ratemaking, energy infrastructure approvals, renewable-energy development, and high-stakes administrative litigation.

Before returning home to New Mexico, Mr. Rode built his practice in New York City, focusing on land use, environmental regulation, and commercial litigation. He clerked for Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich (ret.) in the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, and in 2022 was recognized on the New York Metro Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list.

A native New Mexican, Mr. Rode is fluent in Spanish (DELE C1), bringing linguistic and cultural fluency to his practice.
